About US
The Mason City Clinic was formed on January 1, 1989, with the merger of three physician groups --
Surgical Associates, Internal Medicine Associates and Independent Medical Surgical Group. This
merger brought together thirty physicians and seventy staff with the common vision of working
together to better serve the patients of North Iowa.
The Clinic was organized with a philosophy that specialists working together in the same organization
can offer patients a variety of health services in a convenient and efficient manner. We believe
that by combining our resources we could be better prepared to deal with the ever-changing practice
of medicine. We believe that a large specialty group can more successfully meet the challenges of
increasing government intervention, new technology and other challenges constantly facing physicians
while making sure the commitment to quality patient care is maintained.
The Clinic has continued to grow through the addition of new physicians and merger of other physician
groups who share our commitment to quality patient care. We now represent many different
medical and surgical specialties.
Each month over 100 half-day specialty clinics are provided by our physicians who travel to
area communities throughout our 15-county region to see patients that
need specialty care.
August of 1993 marked the completion of a three-level 80,000 square foot medical office building
located on the campus of Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa in Mason City, Iowa
Our patients are the most important people in the operation of our Clinic. Every day we work to
achieve our mission for our patients:
"To assure the highest quality health care in North Iowa through our role as patient and
physician advocate."
